You’re about to buy hemp online. Then you think: can they even legally ship this to me? Will my package show up? What if it gets lost?

Short answer: Yes, it’s legal to ship hemp products across state lines. Your package will arrive discreetly. But there are rules.

Is It Legal to Ship Hemp Products?

Yes. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp and hemp-derived products at the federal level. That means shipping them across state lines is federally legal—as long as the product meets the 0.3% Delta-9 THC requirement.

The USPS, UPS, and FedEx all have different policies on cannabis-adjacent products. Here’s the real-world breakdown:

USPS: Can technically ship hemp products, but can’t knowingly ship marijuana or THC products. Since hemp is technically legal federally, USPS will deliver it—but don’t label the package “THC” or “marijuana.”

UPS and FedEx: Generally won’t knowingly ship cannabis products, even hemp. But many hemp vendors use these carriers anyway by not declaring the contents or using vague descriptions like “herbal products” or “botanical goods.” It’s a gray area.

Specialized carriers: Some hemp vendors use carriers that specifically handle cannabis-adjacent products. They’re more lenient.

What About Discreet Packaging?

Your hemp arrives in plain, unmarked packaging. No logos. No “BudBuddy” splashed across the box. Nothing that screams “cannabis product.”

Why? Because even though hemp is legal, discreet packaging:

Standard shipping from us: 3-5 business days to most of the continental US. Priority/expedited options are available if you need it faster.

Which Carriers Do We Use?

We primarily use USPS for standard orders and UPS for priority shipments. Both are reliable and understand hemp shipping.

We choose carriers based on:

• Cost (we absorb most of it)
• Reliability track record
• Whether they’re comfortable with hemp products

You’ll know which carrier you’re using when you get your tracking number. Check the label on your package when it arrives.

Age Verification: The Legality Check

You must be 21+ to purchase hemp products. It’s the law, and we enforce it.

Here’s what happens:

1. During checkout: You verify you’re 21+. We capture this electronically.
2. Before shipment: Our team manually verifies your age using ID if anything looks questionable.
3. At delivery: The carrier may request a signature and photo ID from someone 21+. Not always (depends on the carrier and carrier settings), but it can happen.

If you’re under 21, don’t order. If the carrier asks for ID and you can’t provide it, the package gets returned. No exceptions.

Tracking Your Package

When we ship your order, you’ll get a tracking number via email. Use it on USPS.com, UPS.com, or FedEx.com to see real-time updates.

You’ll see:

• Package picked up
• Sorting facility scans
• In transit updates
• Out for delivery
• Delivered

If you subscribe to notifications, you’ll get texts or emails at each step. Don’t lose that tracking number—it’s how you’ll know where your stuff is.

What If Your Package Is Delayed or Lost?

Delays happen. Weather, carrier backups, routing issues—it’s not always our fault.

Here’s what you do:

1. Check tracking first. It’ll tell you if the package is delayed or stuck. Sometimes carriers update slowly.
2. Wait 3-5 extra days. Delays happen. Give it time unless the carrier says it’s officially lost.
3. Contact us if it’s still missing after 10 days. Email [email protected] with your order number and tracking number.
4. We’ll file a claim with the carrier and resend your order. No cost to you. We handle it.

Lost packages are rare. But when they happen, we make it right. You won’t be left hanging.

Import Restrictions: Can You Ship to My Address?

This is the critical part: we can only ship to states where THCa (or whatever hemp product you’re ordering) is legal. We have automated checks that prevent orders to banned states.

If you try to order to a state where THCa is illegal, your order will be flagged and cancelled. You’ll get a full refund.

What If You Move or Change Your Address?

If you need to change the delivery address after ordering, contact us immediately. We can redirect some orders before they ship, but not all.

Better to get it right the first time. Double-check your address at checkout.

International Shipping

Currently, we only ship within the United States. International hemp shipping has federal and customs complications we’re not set up for yet.

If you’re outside the US, you’re out of luck. Sorry.

What About Duties, Taxes, or Customs?

Domestic US orders: No extra fees. What you pay is what you pay.

Some states may have local taxes on hemp products. Those are calculated at checkout and included in your total.

No surprise charges at delivery.

Return Shipping (If Needed)

Not satisfied? We have a return policy. You’ll get a prepaid return label and ship the package back to us. Once we receive it and inspect it, we’ll refund you or send a replacement.

Return shipping is free. We cover it. You just drop the package at your local carrier location.
